2026-27 School Year.

Start date for this coaching position is ASAP.

 

RSD contracted teacher will be paid a stipend.

RSD hourly employee will be paid same stipend amount but at an hourly rate.

Non RSD staff will be paid same stipend but at an hourly rate.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  A sponsor will mentor, guide, and support students in their extracurricular pursuits by fostering personal growth, teamwork, and skill development.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

1. Provide supervision of students during all aspects of program
2. Develop training programs, provide instruction and feedback
3. Foster team cohesion
4. Collaborate with school administration
5. Ensure compliance with regulations
6. Promote character development in an encouraging and inclusive environment
7. Proactively communicate schedules and information to parents and administration
8. Sponsors must adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in District Form 5002 Code of Conduct- Coaches, Sponsors, and Chaperones. It is important for all coaches and sponsors to understand that this list is not exhaustive. It is intended to provide specific, but not exclusive, examples of the standards of conduct that are appropriate for persons who coach and sponsor student activities. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

• Has knowledge and experience in theatre/dance
• Must possess leadership skills, and be able to set an example for the students.
• Effective communication skills in order to inspire students and work with them on improvement.
• Must be available to work nights, holidays, evenings and weekends.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:  

1. Skills related to movement/choreography and/or theatre.
2. Excellent professional references
3. Clean criminal and child abuse and neglect records check
4. High School Graduate 2 or more years prior 

 

EQUIPMENT USED:  

• Standard office equipment.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  

• Duties will require the employee to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, see, and reach.
• Duties will require the ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• Duties will require working non-traditional hours including evening and weekends
