ABOUT PARKWAY-ROCKWOOD COMMUNITY ED: 

Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership of the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts that provides high-quality programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Community Ed team, the Digital Communications Specialist provides leadership and assistance in the planning, execution and evaluation of the strategic marketing plan to drive program enrollment, impact staffing and build public awareness of Community Ed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Create, curate and distribute content that accurately promotes Community Ed’s voice and brand through storytelling and visual language via electronic, web-based, social media, and print communications (website, fliers, newsletters, etc.).

  2. Support the production of digital and printed materials, including programming guides, as needed throughout the calendar year.

  3. Manage, create and monitor department social media accounts, including content, advertising, and analytics.

  4. Design and produce digital communication materials including graphics, videos, GIFs, and newsletters.

  5. Assist in the design, distribution and summarization of results for department-wide external program evaluation efforts as needed.

  6. Research and implement up-to-date trends and best practices in digital communication and incorporate them into Community Ed’s ongoing marketing/communications strategies.

  7. Attend programs as needed to capture photos and videos for use in marketing efforts.

  8. Serve as a member of the Community Ed Management Team

  9. Participate in and provide relevant and accurate marketing/communications insight on department-wide committees.

  10. Under direction of supervisor, collaborate with programming staff to gain and maintain a thorough understanding of Community Ed program and staffing needs and utilize this knowledge in the design of department marketing and communications efforts.

  11. Under direction of supervisor, collaborate with the operations team as needed in execution and evaluation of marketing and communications efforts.

  12. Represent Community Ed at programs, in the districts, and at community events, as needed.

  13. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required: communications, marketing, journalism, business or comparable discipline preferred.

  2. Strong writing, analytical, communications and organizational skills.

  3. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at the same time.

  4. Working knowledge of Google Workspaces and Microsoft Office software.

  5. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite software preferred.

  6. Experience with the use of technology and social media in a business setting.

  7. Experience with Google Analytics preferred.

  8. Experience with Canva preferred.

  9. Knowledge of photography and video editing is preferred.
