Salary: $27,928.20 per week 190 day calendar

POSITION SUMMARY: Provides leadership to the assistive technology systems for educational outcomes for students. Works with teachers to implement assistive technology systems and devices in order to facilitate learning. Identifies issues and provides support for IEP process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Evaluates and provides leadership to assistive technology implementation to support least restrictive environments.
2. Uses data to provide guidance to students to eliminate barriers in the classroom.
3. Collaborates with teachers, administration, and families to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students.
4. Uses identified research-based interventions focuses specifically on individual student needs.
5. Collaborates with the Technology department to maintain equipment and updates.
6. Reviews and analyzes appropriate systems based on student needs.
7. Participates in district and department meetings.
8. Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed.
9. Provides input for program development.
10. Supports implementation of assessment tools and data management systems.
11. Attends the appropriate professional development to improve knowledge and skills.
12. Provides staff development opportunities as needed.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Requires travel to work sites within the District.
- Requires movement about and within a department.
- Knowledge of assistive technology devices and systems.
- Knowledge of current research and trends in effective methods of Early Childhood programs for special needs students.
- Administers tests and diagnostic procedures.
- Provides written procedures for plan preparation and implementation.
- Discusses individual student program with teachers, principals, and parents.
- Reports testing information at meetings.
- Conducts individual or group meetings.
- Observes and evaluates student performance.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in special education or educational related field.
2. Knowledge of implementation of relevant assistive technology systems.
3. 3-5 years of experience in a special education setting.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to work in a variety of locations, travel throughout the District, work non-traditional hours which may include evenings and weekends and meet the physical demands handling a variety of student needs.
- Duties will require the ability to meet the physical demands of handling a variety of student needs.
- Duties will require the ability to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, see and reach.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
