POSITION SUMMARY: Instruct/Coach assigned aquatics programs for youth or adults which may include Aqua Aerobics, Adult Master Lap Swim and Adult Beginner Group Lessons, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (may include any combination of these functions):
1. Provide coaching/instructor for assigned aquatics programs.
2. Responsible for opening and closing the facility, and writing and instructing the workouts as needed.
3. Serve as lifeguard as needed.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Effective written and verbal communications skills.
- Must work well as part of a team and individually.
- Ability to visually and audibly supervise program participants.
- Ability to access program locations which may be within or outside the Parkway and Rockwood SchoolDistricts.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings or weekends as needed.
- Ability to bend, twist, lift and manipulate equipment, supplies and mail.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Previous competitive swim experience or swim coaching experience preferred,
2. Red Cross Lifeguard Certification required or ability to obtain.
EQUIPMENT USED:
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Indoor or outdoor pools based on program location. When outdoors, may be in variable weather conditions.
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
