$14.42 per hour school term calendar with essential benefits
This position works 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.
The scheduled work hours for this position are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

POSITION SUMMARY: Monitors vehicular movement onto and off District property; enforces parking regulations and monitors visitors to the campus. Provides security for parking lots.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor all cars and visitors on the Rockwood School District campus.
- Communicates with students and checks I.D. badges when necessary.
- Directs vehicles to proper parking areas.
- Assists students with problems appropriate to the attendant’s job responsibilities, such as, locking keys in a car.
- Checks vehicles have authority to use the parking lots.
- Deals professionally, but forcefully, with loitering and possible trespassing.
- Directs traffic on District property.
- Communicates with supervisor about personnel needed for special events.
- Maintains vigilance of any suspicious vehicles or persons and notifies the appropriate supervisor or law enforcement.
- Employs good judgment in understanding the distinctions between the job responsibilities of the attendant and that of a law enforcement.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to move within the parking lot to the building.
- Ability to walk District property and monitors the vehicular movement of students, staff and visitors.
- Provide directions to visitors to appropriate parking areas.
- Engages visitors in conversation to determine whether the person should be on the campus.
- Ability to communicate and relate to visitors on school campus.
- Ability to use effective communication skills to resolve problems.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED certificate.
- Training in psychology or coursework in dealing with adolescents.
- Ability to read and understand verbal and written instructions.

- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
