ABOUT PARKWAY-ROCKWOOD COMMUNITY ED:
Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership of the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts that provides high-quality programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.
POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Community Ed team, the Parkway Swim Club Head Developmental Coach will provide leadership and supervision for the Parkway Swim Club developmental groups while also serving as the lead coach of one or more groups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise day to day operation of developmental groups and assigned group(s), including all staff and swimmers.
- Develop, implement and evaluate seasonal plan for assigned group(s), including daily workouts.
- Assist developmental staff in the development of seasonal plans for their groups.
- Evaluate and set goals for individual swimmers in assigned group(s).
- Attend and oversee all aspects of practice for assigned group(s).
- Evaluate all lead coaches of developmental groups and assigned assistant group coaches.
- Maintain ongoing communication with swim club head coach.
- Work with swim club leadership to determine and set meet schedule for all developmental groups and assigned group(s).
- Select and evaluate swimmers’ events for meets.
- Coordinate all aspects of team travel for developmental groups for out of town meets, including setting and maintaining meet budgets.
- Attend team travel meets and supervise swimmers and coaches as needed.
- Organize and supervise club social activities.
- Organize and distribute awards for club swimmers following meets.
- Coordinate with head coach and club staff on planning of hosted meets as required.
- Communicate with parents of developmental groups and assigned groups as needed, including via a monthly group newsletter.
- Assist in management of the team’s social media accounts as needed.
- Maintain assigned office hours and attend staff meetings as required.
- Represent swim club to USA Swimming at identified events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Establish and maintain an effective system of communication with staff and swimmers of assigned group(s)
- Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must work well as part of a team and individually.
- Ability to access all work locations within and outside the Parkway and Rockwood School District.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as required.
- While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- American Red Cross Coaches Safety Training, CPR and First Aid Certification required. OR the ability to get certified
- Minimum of five years experience in an age group swim program.
- ASCA Level 2 or above preferred
- Ability to hold and retain USA Coach’s Card.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge of Google Suite
- Knowledge of web-based Team Unify program preferred
- Knowledge of Hy-Tek program preferred
EQUIPMENT USED:
- General office equipment; pool equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Within assigned pools indoors and outdoors within and outside Parkway and Rockwood School District locations, which may include during inclement weather.
