JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:  A coach/sponsor will mentor, guide, and support students in their athletic or extracurricular pursuits by fostering personal growth, teamwork, and skill development.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  1. Provide supervision of students during all aspects of program
  2. Develop training programs, provide instruction and feedback
  3. Foster team cohesion
  4. Plan competitions and contests, including out of season activities
  5. Collaborate with school administration
  6. Ensure compliance with regulations
  7. Promote sportsmanship and character development in an encouraging an inclusive environment
  8. Proactively communicate schedules and information to parents and administration
  9. Coaches and sponsors must adhere to the standards of conduct outlined in District Form 5002 Code of Conduct- Coaches, Sponsors, and Chaperones . It is important for all coaches and sponsors to understand that this list is not exhaustive. It is intended to provide specific, but not exclusive, examples of the standards of conduct that are appropriate for persons who coach and sponsor student activities. 



ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:  

  1. AED/ CPR/ First Aid Certified (preferred)
  2. Annual MSHSAA training requirements
  3. Excellent professional references
  4. Clean criminal and child abuse and neglect records check
  5. High School Graduate 2 or more years prior
