ABOUT PARKWAY-ROCKWOOD COMMUNITY ED:

Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership of the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts that provides high-quality programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.

 

POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Community Ed team, the swim club junior assistant group coach will assist the lead group coach in conducting swim practice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist group coach in conducting practice and writing swim group workouts.
• Assist group swimmers in stroke technique.
• Maintain ongoing communication with lead group coach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Establish and maintain an effective system of communication with staff and swimmers of assigned group(s) Must work well as part of a team and individually.
• Ability to access all work locations within and outside the Rockwood School District.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as required.
• While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• American Red Cross Coaches Safety Training, CPR and First Aid Certification may be required.
• Previous experience swimming competitively in middle/high school.
• Knowledge of swimming techniques and methods
• Active USA Swimming athlete/member card
• Ability to hold and retain USA Coach's Card if required

EQUIPMENT USED:

Pool equipment.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Within assigned pools indoors and outdoors within and outside Rockwood locations, which may include during inclement weather.
