ABOUT PARKWAY-ROCKWOOD COMMUNITY ED:
Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership of the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts that provides high-quality programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.
POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Community Ed team, the swim club assistant group coach will assist the lead group coach in conducting swim practice and coaching at swim meets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist group coach in conducting practice and writing swim group workouts.
2. Create and write swim group workouts if needed.
3. Attend swim meets as directed by the lead group coach.
4. Assist group swimmers in stroke technique.
5. Maintain ongoing communication with lead group coach.
6. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
7. Attend staff meetings as required.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Establish and maintain an effective system of communication with staff and swimmers of assigned group(s)
- Must work well as part of a team and individually.
- Ability to access all work locations within and outside the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends as required.
- While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- American Red Cross Coaches Safety Training, CPR and First Aid Certification required.
- One year coaching experience in age group swim program preferred.
- Knowledge of swimming techniques and methods
- Ability to hold and retain USA Coach’s Card
EQUIPMENT USED:
Pool equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Within assigned pools indoors and outdoors within and outside Parkway and Rockwood School District locations, which may include during inclement weather.
