Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership between the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts that provides programs to enhance the quality of life for residents in the areas of adult education & literacy, aquatics, art, enrichment, outdoor education, school-age care and sports & fitness.

 

We are currently looking for a full-time Digital Communications Specialist to create, develop and distribute digital marketing and communications materials in line with defined marketing/communications goals and vision to drive enrollment, impact staffing and build public awareness of Community Ed.

 

The ideal candidate will exhibit the following:

In this job, no two days are the same. You might write a post for a social media campaign, meet with program staff to learn about a new program, edit a video for the website, analyze program evaluation results or attend a program to get pictures.  We are looking for an individual who has the skill set and initiative to take ownership of the position and take our marketing and communications efforts to the next level. 

 

This is a new position which will begin July 1, 2024. Position is located at the Community Ed office on the campus of Ellisville Elementary in Ellisville, MO.

 

This is a full-time, year-round position with a minimum salary of $41,600/year (commensurate with experience).

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a member of the Community Ed team, the digital communications specialist will create, develop and distribute digital marketing materials and communications in line with defined marketing/communications goals and vision.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Create and distribute content that accurately promotes Community Ed’s voice and brand through storytelling and visual language via electronic, web-based, social media, and print communications (website, fliers, newsletters, etc.)
  2. Work in a cross-functional team-based environment in order to achieve results.
  3. Collaborate with Supervisor and department staff to gain and maintain a thorough understanding of programs and their marketing needs through regular meetings and department-wide collaboration.
  4. Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of department hiring needs and provide support in creating and implementing marketing/communication plans to impact staffing.
  5. Manage, create and monitor department social media accounts, including content, advertising, and analytics. 
  6. Assist with managing and leading a high-quality customer experience on the Community Ed website and online registration platform, including maintaining our home and program landing pages and ensuring efficient site navigation. Work with web developers/webmasters and other IT professionals to troubleshoot as necessary.
  7. Provide assistance in content creation and digital publicity for department events.
  8. Design and produce digital communication materials including emails, graphics, videos, GIFs, and newsletters.
  9. Support the production of digital and printed materials, including programming guides, as needed throughout the calendar year.
  10. Design, distribute and summarize results for department-wide external program evaluation efforts.
  11. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistency across all digital communication channels.
  12. Attend programs as needed to capture photos and videos for use in marketing efforts.
  13. Research and implement up-to-date trends and best practices in digital communication and incorporate them into Community Ed’s ongoing marketing/communications strategies.
  14. Participate in and provide relevant and accurate marketing/communications insight as a member of the Community Education management team and on department-wide committees.
  15. Coordinate, assist with and attend special events and activities of the department as needed.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
