This position is open to current Rockwood Custodians and the public. The internal closing date for this position is December 22 2022.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs complex maintenance tasks dealing with heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration. Also maintains personal records of refrigerant recovery and recycling.

10. Ability to drive to various sites and maintain a varied work schedule including weekends.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain acceptable attendance as dictated by District/Facilities Department standard.
2. Reads and understands manufacturer's recommendations for the maintenance and repair of all District equipment and machinery.
3. Services equipment on a predetermined schedule to prevent future disruption in service and premature replacement.
4. Observes and services mechanical devices, such as, pumps, engines, motors, fans, compressors
5. Repairs malfunctioning parts by dismantling, removing and restoring equipment according to specifications and manuals.
6. Seeks the advice of other maintenance workers or the supervisor in order to solve the maintenance problems unique to their experiences.
7. Advances to expert (III) status through education, dedication, and acceptance of peers and supervision.
8. All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. EPA Certification in refrigerant recovery and recycling.
2. High School diploma or GED certificate.
3. Advanced training in a vocation college or trades school or graduate of certified apprenticeship program or a verifiable certificate of achievement in a relevant field.
4. Valid driver's license appropriate for vehicle.
5. Two plus years experience in maintenance work as a certified HVAC specialist, or allied field.
6. Must be able to read blue prints, plans and specifications.
7. Knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.
8. Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and work in both warm and cold climatic conditions.
9. Ability to work 30 - 50 feet from ground level.
10. Ability to read and understand complex instructions.
