POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise staff and test students for advancement within SwimAmerica guidelines. Answer questions from parents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate with instructors and Aquatics Manager to ensure adequate staffing for all classes.
- Test students for advancement.
- Liaison to parents regarding SwimAmerica.
- Oversee and evaluate instructor’s performance and placement.
- Monitor lessons to ensure that Swim America guidelines for class structure are followed.
- Inform Aquatics Manager of pool maintenance or safety issues related to the facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Manager.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Superior verbal communication skills.
- Comfortably interact with all ages of children and their parents.
- Possesses adequate knowledge of the SwimAmerica Program and competitive swimming techniques.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have competitive swimming experience; knowledge of swimming techniques and teaching methods preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain required.
- Previous experience working in a swim program preferred.
- Previous supervision experience preferred.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Standard office equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to work in a variety of locations, travel throughout the District, work non-traditional hours which may include evenings and weekends
