POSITION SUMMARY:    Responsible for set-up and operation of technical theater equipment for various events throughout the district put on by various schools, departments, and Rockwood community organizations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Set up and operate theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging equipment.
  2. Clean and return Rockwood spaces to original condition when event is finished.
  3. Work with custodial department at designated location to ensure space is locked up and secure.
  4. Supervise group using Rockwood facilities when a Rockwood staff member or Theater Manager is not present.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Theater Manager. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with Rockwood staff members, community groups, and students of all ages.
  • Ability to work flexible.
  • Basic knowledge of use and operation of theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging systems.
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Basic knowledge of use and operation of theatrical lighting, sound, and rigging systems.
  3. Reliable transportation to and from various events.
  4. Operation of theatrical sound & lighting consoles

EQUIPMENT USED: 

  • Theatrical light, sound and rigging equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
