40 hours per week  7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

 

This position is open to current Rockwood employees and the public. The internal closing date for this position is 12/22/22.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs complex maintenance tasks dealing with plumbing.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

4. Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimum direction and supervision.
5. Ability to safely bend, twist and lift up to 100 pounds of supplies and equipment.

7. Ability to demonstrate safe work environment procedures and reinforce reasonable rules to reduce or eliminate job-related injuries.
8. Ability to set a good example for fellow employees by consistently performing job task in a positive manner; practicing principles of good customer service and good teamwork.
9. Ability to demonstrate good verbal and written communications skills.
10. Ability to drive to various sites and maintain a varied work schedule including weekends.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Maintain acceptable attendance as dictated by District/Facilities Department standard.
2. Reads and understands manufacturer's recommendations for the maintenance and repair of all District equipment and machinery.
3. Services equipment on a predetermined schedule to prevent future disruption in service and premature replacement.

4. Repairs malfunctioning parts by dismantling, removing and restoring equipment according to specifications and manuals.
5. Seeks the advice of other maintenance workers or the supervisor in order to solve the maintenance problems unique to their experiences.
6. Advances to expert (III) status through education, dedication, and acceptance of peers and supervision.
7. All other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or GED certificate.
2. Advanced training in a vocation college or trades school or graduate of certified apprenticeship program or a verifiable certificate of achievement in a relevant field.
3. Valid driver's license appropriate for vehicle.
4. Two plus years experience in maintenance work as a certified plumber, or allied field.
5. Must be able to read blue prints, plans and specifications.
6. Knowledge of mechanical tools and equipment.
7. Physical stamina to lift heavy loads and work in both warm and cold climatic conditions.
8. Ability to read and understand complex instructions.
