Position: Early Childhood Assistant Facilitator for Full Day Program
Location: Clarkson Valley location

Hours: 10am-6pm, Monday through Friday
Status: Full time; 12 months
Salary: $13.27 (HS diploma) $14.18 (60 college hours)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in implementing a program that maintains the preschool philosophy and curriculum.
- Relates, communicates, and interacts with children with patience and compassion.
- Interacts effectively with staff and families in the program
- Maintains ethical behavior and confidentiality about students
- Completes 12 hours of in-service each year.
- Maintains CPR and First Aid Certification
- Performs such other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to establish an encouraging, caring, and safe environment for children.
- Ability to communicate clear and effectively.
- Ability to plan and implement afternoon activities for children which provide a variety of social, art, music, language, math, science, and motor opportunities designed to challenge children’s emerging abilities and support the preschool curriculum.
- Communicates and coordinates activity plans and classroom procedures with teacher.
- Responsible for the overall supervision and management of the classroom in the afternoon and teacher’s absence.
- Maintains a variety of record keeping tasks such as accident reports, snacks, afternoon lesson plans and safety drills.
- Communicates with parents about child’s day at school.
- Supervise the afternoon staff.
- Maintains and orders food service and classroom supplies.
- Shops, plans and posts snack menus.
- Ability to judge when situation and/or information should be called to the attention of the supervisor.
- Ability to supervise and interact with children on their level (bending, stooping, lifting and sitting on the floor) across settings as assigned (classroom, playground, gym, lunch, crisis management)
- Ability to assists students in physical tasks such as positioning, feeding, toileting, diapering, and self-help skills.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- 60 college credit hours preferred, high school diploma required
- Experience working with children in similar setting preferred.
- Demonstrates ability to assume responsibility, respect, confidentiality, patience and compassion with young children.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- Standard office equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand, reach, and lift 25 pounds.
