Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership between the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts that provides high quality programs and services to enhance the quality of life for residents. We are currently looking for a full-time Supervisor for the following:

  • Provide leadership in developing, implementing and supervising a comprehensive sports program for youth and adults that involve 5000+ participants per year
  • Lead assigned programs for youth, families or adults such as fitness, outdoor ed, art, enrichment, etc.
  • Support other Community Ed programming staff as needed.

The ideal candidate will exhibit the following:

  • Ability to complete work in a fast-paced environment that is subject to continuous improvement opportunities on an ongoing basis
  • Takes initiative to understand Community Ed programs and its unique needs within the school district environment
  • Builds relationships with internal constituents at 60+ Parkway and Rockwood schools
  • Proactively seek solutions to issues and contribute to problem-solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external audiences 
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience leading sports and recreation programs or a related field.

The position will be located at the Community Ed office on the campus of Ellisville Elementary in Ellisville, MO.  

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works towards furthering the mission of Community Education in the Rockwood School District.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Manage and direct day-to-day operations in assigned program area.

2. Prepare and maintain budgets, reports, records, lists and all other paperwork required or appropriate to the programs’ administration.

3. Manage assigned staff members and assist in their development as appropriate.

4. Evaluate and counsel all staff members regarding their individual performance as required.

5. Assist with marketing strategies for programs. 6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director Community Education.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Provide leadership in developing and implementing a quality Community Education Program for all patrons.

2. Ability to train staff to effectively meet program needs.

3.Effective written and verbal communications skills.

4. Ability to bend, twist, and manipulate equipment, supplies and mail.

5. Ability to access all locations including uneven or hilly terrain as needed.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and appropriate certification as required by the area to be supervised.

2. Experience working in the area of supervision.

3. Possess computer skills needed to effectively perform job duties.

 

EQUIPMENT USED: 

1. Standard office equipment.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

1. Ability to work in a variety of locations, travel throughout the District, work non-traditional hours which may include evenings and weekends. 

2. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
